Introduction

Hi there!

My name is Hein and I'm a self-taught geek. I've been fascinated by the workings of computers and software from a young age and my first computer was one I built when I was 12 years old, from spare parts lying around, kind of mixing and matching until I found something that seemed to work but without really knowing how they all fit together. From there my journey into IT tech started. I started reading a LOT on the subject, joined forums online, spoke to experts and rookies alike, all to further my knowledge.

Since then, many years have passed and I've built, maintained, diagnosed and repaired countless computers. I've been thinking about how to share what I've learned over the years for a long time now and decided to start a blog.

Many people are familiar with the Windows interface and generally how to run and work with certain software on a computer (word processors, spreadsheets, presentations, games, even more complex things such as photo and video editing), but are daunted by the actual workings of a computer and can't tell RAM apart from an SSD.

Well, piece by piece I will explain complex terms, delve into the recesses of Windows Setup and even teach you how to overclock your computer, depending on the hardware you have installed. I hope you find this blog useful and if you do, keep following it, I'll be updating regularly.

Have fun exploring!
